Welcome to the Sundwall Preschool Web
page!
If you have a 3 to 5 year old child (or
know of someone who does), and are interested in developmental
testing, please contact me (Karen Clark) at the Sundwall
Preschool at 259-3068. We will set up a testing time
and (if indicated) invite one of the school district's
speech specialists (Diana Adams or Carrie Fisher) to
administer speech testing. Other areas possibly tested include
motor (fine and gross), cognition, social/emotional
development, and adaptive or self-help skill ability.
All tests are standardized and determine eligibility
for the program.
If your child is eligible for the district's program,
he or she will receive a free appropriate public education,
based on an individualized education program. Education
programs are designed by a multidisciplinary team of
specialists (of which you - the parent - are the most
important team member). Other specialists typically
include the early childhood special education teacher (Karen Clark), the Local Education Agent (Taryn Kay or a
designee assigned by her), a speech specialist, occupational
therapist, nurse or doctor (if appropriate), and anyone
else you may like to have present at the meeting.
Our preschool program consists of developmentally appropriate
practices and individualized teaching, delivered by
myself and three qualified paraprofessionals (Trina Schriver, Jolene Williams and Dhyana Greene).
We have two preschool sessions per day. The morning session typically
includes our youngest students and runs from 8:30 a.m.
until 11:00 a.m. The afternoon session runs from 12:30
p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A daily snack and outside play
are always included. Transportation is provided by our
school district. School is in session Monday through
Thursday and follows the same working schedule as Red
Rock Elementary. I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Karen Clark
