- JOB SUMMARY*

Under the direction of the Building Principal, provide instructional services to home bound students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
- Meet with the building principal and/or teacher(s) to obtain instructions regarding student to be tutored.
- Tutoring materials will be the current course(s) of study of the student’s Grand County School District classes.
- Tutor will be responsible to arrange for pick-up of these tutoring materials.
- Tutor will meet with student in a neutral area with another adult present (or based on medical need, tutoring will occur at home providing another adult is present.) Transportation of the student to the agreed upon site is the responsibility of the parent.
- Copy of Tutoring Schedule detailing dates of meetings, content, and hours tutored must accompany invoice for payment. Tutor is responsible to deliver a copy to the District Office Payroll Department and a copy to the school.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary to Performance of Essential Functions:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited institution at an acceptable academic level to be determined by the Grand County School District.
- 2. Ability to communicate effectively.
- Tutor must be on GCSD approved list. (Must be interviewed by Superintendent or be recommended by District Administrator or Building Principal.)
- This is a contracted position with no other employment expectations attached, and salary based on GCSD Salary Schedule for Tutors or GCSD Salary Schedule for District licensed employee (if selected). The tutor is paid for student contact time only–not for planning or consultation time.

Desirable Knowledge & Abilities:
- Previous experience in a public school setting.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Hold and maintain a Utah Driver's License.
