   JOB DESCRIPTION: Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk

   JOB SUMMARY*

Under the direction of the Business Administrator is responsible for district payroll and assists with accounts payable duties

   ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS*:

   Payroll Department:

  1. Maintain employee attendance records and time sheets for all full and part-time employees.
  2. Verify hours, enter, check for accuracy, and process payroll checks for all district employees.
  3. Assist employees with questions regarding salary schedules, hours, leave, medical insurance, retirement, and other District benefits.
   Accounts Payable Department:
  1. providing work-based activities such as career fairs, job shadows, service learning, internships, etc.
  2. Verify and process employee check requests.
  3. Verify and pay in-lieu-of-transportation claims.
   General Duties
  1. File claims for worker’s compensation, auto and general liability. Maintain current status on all claims filed.
  2. Maintain filling system for the current and past years’ financial records.
  3. General clerical duties include typing, filing, telephone, and reception as needed.

   MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs other job duties as required.

   Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary to Performance of Essential Functions:

  1. Computer skills.
  2. Must be a graduate of an accredited institution at an acceptable academic level to be determined by the Grand County School District.
  3. Demonstrate an aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  4. Successful work background.

   Desirable Knowledge & Abilities:

  1. Previous experience in a public school setting.
  2. Hold and maintain a Utah driver's license.
  3. Ability to work independently.
  4. Ability to learn and interpret rules, regulations, laws and instructions, as needed.
  5. Knowledge of and ability to use English correctly and appropriately.
