1. Meeting Guidelines - Patrons and members of the community are welcome to attend meetings of the Grand County Board of Education. We appreciate the attendance and interest. In order to facilitate orderly conduct, the Board has established the following guidelines; if at any point this more relaxed manner of conducting the meeting produces negative results, more strict rules will be enforced.
2. Receiving of Delegations
- During this portion of the agenda, those people who would like to speak to the Board on specific issues that are not listed under Information Items are welcome to do so. The Board will receive information from the speaker but will not comment or resolve the issue during this portion of the agenda. Instructions and a “speaker card” are provided in the box on the west wall. Delegations should expect to use no more than three (3) minutes. If needed, more time will be arranged at another date.
3. Information & Action Items
- The Board welcomes input as we conduct business on the various items presented in these portions of the agenda. Please follow the ABC’s: A) Wait to be recognized by the Board President before you speak; B)The Board President will try to allow comments from all who would like to do so before returning to individuals who have already spoken. Please be brief. Avoid repeating or restating the same comments by just saying you agree with the comments already made; C)Avoid publicly asking or answering questions among the audience.
4. Board Communications - At this point the Board will not receive comments unless requested by a board member.
5. Please remember that the purpose of the meeting is for the Board to conduct business. The meeting is being held in public but it is not a hearing of the public where the purpose is to solicit comments from the public.
